HOW CAN I ADD THE FILE TYPE ".ATT" FOR MY XP WITH SP 2?
These are the steps I used with my Min 2000. In XP I can only continue with the first steps. These are the instructions which do not work with XP - for me:The next step is to create a file association for .ATT email attachments in Windows - this will cause Windows to launch List Serve when you open such an attachment from your email. Click START | SETTINGS | FOLDER OPTIONS Click the "File Types" tab then the "New" button Enter, "Email Attachment" for the Description of Type field Enter, "att" for the Associated Extension field Select, "text/plain" from the dropdown combobox named Content Type (MIME) Click the "New" button In the box for Action, enter "open" In the box for Application Used to Perform Action, enter "browse" 1 person needs an answerI do too

I don't know of any application that generates files with the .att extension, but if there is one, you need to have that application installed. Then save the attachment to your hard drive, browse to where you saved it, right click it, and select Open With. Then select the application you want to use to open it, click the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and click OK. Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]

Outlook Express message appears blank and has an ATT000XX.txt or an ATT000XX.htm attachment:http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=312351 And from:http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/decode.htm Besides the problem described in this article with temporary files, Outlook Express may have a blank message if Internet Explorer is set at View, Encoding to Auto-Select. If so, disable the Auto-Select in Internet Explorer and choose instead Western European (ISO). If your program has an option to read HTML messages in Plain Text, the HTML version of the message may appear as an ATT0001.HTM attachment (the number may vary). Bruce Hagen MS-MVP [Mail]
